GREELEY, Colo.—A 29-year-old Ault man accused of killing his common-law wife more than a year ago tells police his crimes were influenced by a demonic voice.

Matthew Gunsallus was arrested at the Greeley Police Department on Friday night. He told police he regained consciousness after his wife died and realized he had suffocated her. Police say he told them a voice instructed him how to discard evidence and stage the scene to avoid detection.

According to the Greeley Tribune ( ), Gunsallus is accused first-degree murder involving domestic violence by suffocating Kristen Lujan with a pillow during an argument.
