
Colorado beer distributors generate 2,457 direct jobs and generate $987 million in total economic impacts, according to a new report released Wednesday by the
The report said that when the impacts of Colorado distributor operations, capital investment and community involvement are considered, the total number of “impact jobs” is 6,189 .
The report, produced by Bill Latham and Ken Lewis of the Center for Applied Business & Economic Research at the University of Delaware, looked at how beer distributor activities are intertwined with the economy, especially the personal services sector.
Their report said that Colorado beer distributor activities contribute $215 million to federal, state and local tax bases.
The report said this does not include an added $124 million in federal, state and local alcohol excise and consumption taxes on beer sold in Colorado.
