LOVELAND, Colo.—The Loveland City Council has approved an ordinance for oil and gas regulations.

Revisions to the ordinance approved Wednesday make it clear that the city cannot enforce any conditions in conflict with state law unless it is a provision that is not included in the permit with the producer.

According to the Loveland Reporter-Herald ( ), the new laws will take effect April 2.

They provide two options for producers interested in Loveland. They can either work with standards that match state law with a review process, or enter into volunteer agreements with the city for a more streamlined permit review.
