FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Coroner’s officials say a man whose body was recovered from Rocky Mountain National Park died of hypothermia.
Park officials have said 43-year-old David Laurienti and 45-year-old Lisa Foster, both of Estes Park, were caught in an avalanche while descending 13,514-foot Ypsilon Mountain on the evening of March 17. Foster was rescued from the park with multiple injuries. Laurienti’s body was found March 19.
Larimer County officials said Monday that Laurienti’s death was ruled an accident.
