On a day when you and the family can tour master-planned Idyllwilde in a horse-drawn carriage, you better not be horsing around if you plan on living here, amid the trails, open space and top-rated schools. All three builders who are showing models in this two-time winner of the Community-of-the-Year award for the entire Denver area can see the end of their home sites now – and this is a year when homes in this price range are in huge demand.
Not surprisingly, Idyllwilde’s builders have roared through 34 sales since January, at a time when their inventory homes and lots are dwindling. “It’s like resort living here,” says Village’s Ete Rondeau, who logged 18 of those sales and has only ten sites left, priced from the high $300s. Many of those opportunities have gone to families arriving to Colorado, expecting views and recreation – who find exactly what they’re after in Idyllwilde’s 300 acres of open space that wrap parks, ball fields and a Grand Hall with pools and fitness center. “It’s the sense of community that really sets Idyllwilde apart,” adds Tammy Barber of Richmond American Homes, who has seen 14 sales of large, luxurious homes with standard 3-car garages since January. You can tour her Harlow and Daniela models (4,000 square feet!); and see the sites she has left – now down to 26, including choice situations that back to open space, and are set for walk-out lower levels. Meanwhile, you can tour Triton Communities’ new-urban single-family cottages, with garages on the alley and with full maintenance included, from the $270s. “If you’re renting now, you could be getting a lot more for your money,” says Triton’s Kaylene Helling, who sees buyers making their first home purchase, but also those downsizing. All buyers at Idyllwilde arrive knowing all about Cimarron Middle School and Legend High, each 8-for-10 stars, walking distance from all builders’ homes. Despite the access, this community has a tranquil ambiance, says Village’s Rondeau. “You don’t hear traffic at all here,” she adds. She has a ranch ready for move-in now; one of a choice selection of homes that can be ready soon – including a main-floor master design by Triton that’s now framing up; and four homes by Richmond American, including a 4,400-foot ‘Heather with walkout level. You’ll climb on the carriage at any of Idyllwilde’s three model complexes, ride past parks and open spaces, and can climb off-and-on again at any models.
