BOULDER, Colo.—The city of Boulder is considering whether to appeal a verdict regarding an agreement that allows a businessman access to the Boulder Municipal Airport from his nearby property.

The Daily Camera reports ( ) a jury ruled this week that the city must pay almost $260,000 to Boulder Valley Aviation owner Barry Barnow if it wants to nix the deal.

The access agreement was in place when Barnow bought his property in 2006. But the Federal Aviation Administration decided in 2009 that such agreements should be eliminated, due to safety concerns.

The parties went to trial after Barnow rejected an offer of $10,000 to nix the access agreement.
