Just like the school’s girls program, Cherry Creek boys lacrosse beat the No. 1 team last week, then took the No. 1 spot in the ranking this week.
The Bruins (8-4) handled Mullen 8-3 last Wednesday and also beat Smoky Hill for a 2-0 week. They moved up from No. 2 in the 5A poll.
Mullen dropped to No. 4 following two losses. The Mustangs also dropped a game to Columbine on Saturday, 5-3. Columbine is No. 2 in the ranking this week.
Smoky Hill (No. 10) was the lone new team to the 5A poll.
Wheat Ridge continued to lead the 4A ranking.
