DENVER—Xcel Energy is working with two solar industry groups to extend its incentives for Colorado customers who add solar panels.

For 2013, Xcel’s SolarRewards program offered incentives for 9.6 megawatts of installations, each 10 kilowatts or less. Company officials said customers had claimed all available incentives by late April.

The utility is now working with the Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association and the Solar Energy Industries Association to offer more incentives. Details hadn’t been settled as of Tuesday. The Denver Post reports () Xcel aims to file a proposal with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission by mid-May.
