Denver police have arrested a man suspected of fatally shooting another man in a Denny’s parking lot Sunday.
Taylor Ray Bandy, 19, was arrested Tuesday for investigation of first-degree murder in connection with the death of a man whose body was found behind the wheel of a car in the Denny’s parking lot at 1605 Federal Blvd., Denver police announced.
Police found the body after someone called to report something suspicious at 6:33 a.m.,police said. There was a bullet hole in the window of the car in which the body was found.
It was the second shooting fatality in one week at a Denny’s location in Denver.
On April 27, 36-year-old Chris Haney was killed outside a Denny’s in the 900 block of West Alameda Avenue. In that incident, witnesses said Haney intervened during an altercation. Police arrested two brothers in connection with his death.

$350,000 allegedly taken by Guard fund volunteer
A former Colorado National Guard Foundation volunteer has been charged with stealing more than $350,000 from the organization’s funds.
Ruthann Oppenheim was charged with embezzlement by the Arapahoe County district attorney, according to a news release Tuesday from the Colorado National Guard Foundation.
That organization administers the Military Family Relief Fund.
Oppenheim is accused of stealing from the Colorado Military Family Relief Fund and the Colorado National Guard Foundation’s own fund, the release states.
Board members of the foundation discovered discrepancies in February 2012 through an internal audit of accounts, according to the release.

Witnesses see meteor explode over Wyoming
The American Meteor Society says it has received reports of a meteor exploding in the sky above southern Wyoming on Sunday night.
The sight occurred about 10:45 p.m. and was observed from as far as 400 miles away. Eight witnesses, including people in Idaho and Colorado, reported the event to the American Meteor Society.
CLARIFICATION: The Colorado National Guard Foundation is not affiliated with the Education Foundation for the Colorado National Guard. The Education Foundation for the Colorado National Guard is a separate organization that raises money for Guard family scholarships and other educational purposes.
