COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Fourteen Fort Carson soldiers have returned to Colorado Springs after seven months in Afghanistan.
The soldiers of the 52nd Engineer Battalion’s 40th Engineer Detachment told The Gazette they traveled the country, expanding forward operating bases, improving living conditions and creating helicopter landing zones ().
About 60 people were waiting to greet the soldiers when they returned.
