GOLDEN, Colo.—Jefferson County authorities are investigating after the death of a 55-year-old man who was making suicidal threats and appeared to be on drugs.
The sheriff’s office says in a statement that officers were called to a home in Conifer on Sunday morning and found the man carrying a BB gun. Deputies say they used a stun gun when he refused their orders.
The man, whose name hasn’t been released, began having difficulty breathing as he was being taken to a patrol car. He was pronounced dead at the scene after medical personnel attempted CPR.
The coroner’s office is trying to determine the cause of death.
