ALAMOSA, Colo.—A family member has released the name of a 69-year-old man who was killed in a small plane crash at the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve in southern Colorado.
Matt Cutter tells The Denver Post ( ) his dad, Richard Cutter, of Monte Vista, was the owner of the plane that went down Saturday morning. The elder Cutter was killed in the crash and two others in the plane were injured.
Their names have not been released.
The Federal Aviation Administration is joining the National Transportation Safety Board in the investigation.
FAA spokesman Allen Kenitzer says the Piper PA-28 crashed on Medano Pass, which he described as a “quite remote area.”
