COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A former Colorado Springs police officer accused of falsely saying her boyfriend had attacked her has been sentenced to 90 days of home detention.
KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs reports () Sydney Huffman also was sentenced Monday to four years in supervised probation and 200 hours of community service.
She pleaded guilty in April to attempting to influence a public servant.
After her then-boyfriend was acquitted of attacking Huffman, he sued the city, alleging the claims against him weren’t properly investigated. The city agreed to pay him $480,000 in a settlement.
