With all the beautiful fabrics on display at the Denver Art Museum as part of “Spun: Adventures in Textiles,” it’s tempting to try your hand at sewing, quilting, tatting or embroidery, and there are opportunities to do so at the Thread Studio on the sixth floor of the museum’s North Building. The space is also hosting drop-in workshops. At 2 p.m. Thursday, two local experts will discuss and show natural dyeing techniques and shibori. The program is free with admission. Also, in The Quilt Studio on the museum’s main floor of the Hamilton Building, each weekend local artisans demonstrate various types of quilting. “Spun” runs through Sept. 22 in multiple galleries at the museum, 100 W. 14th Ave. Parkway. .
