An Eagle County woman pleaded not guilty to allegedly breaking the leg off a table and beating her boyfriend nearly to death with it in April.

Emily Anderson, 28, of Bond, entered her plea Tuesday, according to a news release from the Eagle County District Attorney’s Office.

Anderson is accused of severely beating her boyfriend of three years with a table leg on April 27.

The victim was discovered by friends at home in a pool of his own blood suffering from a skull fracture, intra-cerebral bleeding, a fractured ulna on his left arm, and multiple scalp and facial lacerations, according to the release.

Anderson is charged with attempted first -degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury, trespassing and two “Crime of Violence” sentence enhancements.

The disconnected table leg was left at the scene of the crime, according to the release.

Anderson was arrested the following day and is currently being held in the Eagle County jail on a $25,000 bond.

“Through her alleged actions, Ms. Anderson showed very obvious malice, and a clear disregard for the well-being of the victim, not only by inflicting such serious wounds, but then by leaving the scene and later refusing to cooperate with authorities,” said District Attorney Bruce Brown in the release.

A seven day jury trial is set to begin on Jan. 21, 2014, according to the release.
