Denver is the 12th-most expensive city in the United States to have a baby, Redfin real-estate brokerage said in a report Wednesday.
The company said it compiled its rankings based on housing data, as well as the expense of child care, health care, baby items and utilities.

The most expensive city to have a baby is San Jose, Calif., where the average cost of a newborn’s first year is $41,600, compared with the $26,000 a baby costs the average U.S. family.
Seven of the 10 most expensive cities to have a new baby are in California.
In Denver, the cost of having a baby is $28,700, said Redfin.
