The wife of the former Department of Corrections chief who was killed last March will serve on the Board of Directors for the Council of State Governments Justice Center.

Dr. Lisa Clements, the director of the Office of Behavioral Health, will join the group of state legislative leaders, judges, corrections administrators, juvenile justice agency directors, and law enforcement professionals already involved with the nonprofit organization. The board studies issues related to the criminal justice system and proposes strategies to various levels of government.

“I am honored to be asked to serve on this board,” Clements said in a statement provided by the board. “I look forward to participating in the national work of the Justice Center, and most importantly to translate that work into practice for the Coloradans we serve every day.”
