DURANGO, Colo.—Authorities aren’t saying whether their search of the home of the father of Dylan Redwine turned up any clues in the 13-year-old boy’s disappearance and death.

La Plata County investigators searched Mark Redwine’s southwestern Colorado home Wednesday with the help of the FBI and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. Mark Redwine told KUSA-TV ( ) they removed sections of carpet and wood flooring, dug a hole in his yard, and took a fireplace poker, clothing and a cellphone.

Sheriff’s spokesman Dan Bender said Thursday that the office won’t comment on what was found, only saying that it was part of an on-going investigation. He reiterated that investigators have not labeled anyone as a suspect in the boy’s disappearance and death.

Sheriff Duke Schirard told The Durango Herald ( ) that the search was “just a follow up on the still wide-open investigation.”

Mark Redwine didn’t return calls seeking comment on Thursday.

The home near Vallecito Reservoir was also searched in November after Dylan Redwine disappeared while staying with his father during a court-ordered visit over Thanksgiving break. Mark Redwine has said he returned home from running errands on Nov. 19 to find Dylan was gone. Seven months later, Dylan’s remains were found about 10 miles from his father’s house by investigators doing a week-long search of the area.

Investigators don’t believe the boy ran away.

Schirard told the Herald that, once Dylan’s remains were found, the investigation shifted to focus on finding the person responsible for his disappearance.
