A Golden retriever’s insatiable appetite for rocks landed him a trip to the animal hospital in Eden Prairie.
Seven-year-old Gordon had emergency surgery at BluePearl Veterinary Hospital Wednesday where a surgeon removed 16 rocks from his stomach, according to a report from KMSP-TV.
If a dog happens to eat a rock, they usually stop at one or two, according to Dr. Jeff Yu, who performed the two-hour procedure.
Gordon just kept going — the rocks weighed nearly 2 pounds.
Gordon is expected to make a full recovery, Yu said.
