BRIGHTON, Colo.—A man accused of killing two teens who allegedly tried to blackmail him with a cell phone video has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
William Dean Otto was advised of the charges filed against him Thursday in Adams County Court in Brighton.
According to an arrest affidavit, 16-year-olds Gustavo Espinosa-Gamboa and Jonathan Gonzalez had video of Otto, their neighbor, asking at least one of them for a sex act. They allegedly asked their 43-year-old for $10,000 each in exchange for not showing it to police.
Otto has also been charged with tampering with evidence and five counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The teens’ bodies were found buried in the small farming town of Sedgwick, about 150 miles away from their neighborhood in unincorporated Adams County.
