WHEAT RIDGE, Colo.—Police are looking for a man who stabbed a woman and her son as they were walking on a greenbelt trail in suburban Denver.
The stabbing happened Thursday morning in Wheat Ridge.
The woman told police that they were walking along the Clear Creek trail when a man jumped out of the bushes, chased them and stabbed them with a knife before fleeing. A couple who came upon the injured mother and child called 911.
Their wounds weren’t life-threatening.
Police say the victim has identified 44-year-old Marvin Gean Wilson as the suspect. Police are still investigating the connection between Wilson and the woman.
Wilson’s criminal record includes a guilty plea in 2005 to failing to register as a sex offender.
