GREELEY — After a few hours of deliberation, a Weld County jury on Wednesday convicted an elderly Greeley woman of threatening her neighbor with a pellet gun that resembled a Colt handgun.
In August of 2011, Michael Crawley told police his 76-year-old neighbor, Joyce Bradmon, aimed what he thought was a .45-caliber handgun at him after she yelled at some neighborhood kids for drawing with chalk on a sidewalk. Bradmon said she purchased the Colt-replica pellet gun to shoot snakes that were invading her yard, and she never pointed the gun at anyone, nor did she load or fire it.
Witnesses, including two young girls, said Bradmon pointed the gun at Crawley, saying, “You want one of these?” Crawley called 911, and police noted that the girls were visibly upset when they arrived.
