Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.com, said that gas prices are in “limbo…with average prices across the United States virtually the same as they were a month ago.
“While the situation in Syria bears further monitoring, and hurricane season remains on the radar, we’ve still seen prices continue to hold level,” said DeHaan.
“In fact, the cumulative yearly average for a gallon of gas stands at $3.57 a gallon, compared to one year ago when it was $3.62 a gallon,” he said.
DeHaan said that while motorists might think 2013 was a bad year for gas prices, it wasn’t as painful as 2012.
GasBuddy operates and more than 250 similar websites that track gasoline prices at more than 140,000 gasoline stations in the United States and Canada.
