GREELEY, Colo.—Colorado’s status as a top sunflower producer in the United States is falling and experts wonder if the crop will ever make a full comeback.
Colorado’s total sunflower production was 55 million pounds in 2012, down about 55 percent from the year before.
The Greeley Tribune reports ( ) the continuing drought last year took a big toll on production.
