CANON CITY, Colo.—A 42-year-old Canon City man charged in a fatal shooting east of Pueblo last year has posted bail.
The Canon City Daily Record reports ( ) Anthony S. Wright posted $250,000 bail Saturday and is set to appear in court Sept. 26 on charges stemming from the death of 77-year-old Byron Griffy.
Authorities say Griffy was found dead in his Fowler home Oct. 12, 2012, and Wright was arrested last month in Canon City on suspicion of first-degree murder, second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. The arrest affidavit remains sealed, and authorities have not released Wright’s association to Griffy, a longtime school board member and funeral director in the Arkansas Valley.
Wright’s $1 million bail was lowered to $500,000 on Aug. 16 and to $250,000 on Sept. 6.
