DENVER—Supporters of a ballot measure that would change school finance in Colorado and raise taxes have doubled their fundraising effort with $1.6 million in contributions over the past two weeks.

The group now has raised more than $3.2 million aimed at winning approval for the measure on the November ballot.

According to the Denver Post ( ), two groups opposing the measure did not file their campaign finance reports by Monday, but they still have time to file.

The proposed tax would raise nearly $1 billion a year for education upgrades, including expanded kindergarten and preschool, and more attention for disabled students and students learning English.
