HONOLULU—Kauai County officials have released the name of the Colorado man found dead Sunday in waters off the island.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser () reports the man was identified as 81-year-old Leo Bennett of Colorado Springs.
Bennett was found unresponsive off Makua (mah-KOO’-ah) Beach.
He had been snorkeling in calm water off the beach known as Tunnels.
Bystanders found him face down and pulled him from the water. They performed CPR but he was pronounced dead at a hospital.
An autopsy has been ordered to determine cause of death.
