A fugitive was taken into custody early Wednesday morning in Lakewood after a standoff with officers.
Sean Wyles, 31, was arrested at about 4:30 a.m. after surrendering at a motel near West 6th Avenue and Kipling Street, according to a Lakewood Police Department media release.
Police first made contact with Wyles at about 11 p.m. Tuesday, but he refused to come out of the motel room.
A SWAT team eventually entered the room where Wyles was hiding, police said, and he was taken into custody.
He is being held at the Jefferson County Jail.
