DENVER—Colorado flood victims are being warned that the state does not have a law against price-gouging except for prescription drugs during emergencies.

Colorado Assistant Attorney General Jan Zavislan says as long as the consumer agrees on a price, it’s legal.

The attorney general’s office says so far, there have been only a few complaints of hotels raising their rates for flood victims, but that could change as rescue efforts drag on.

The Denver Post reports ( ) prices could rise sharply for the more immediate needs of food, water, fuel and shelter.
