DENVER—Denver police say anti-gang activist Terrance Roberts told gang members he shot a man at a community rally because the man threatened him with a knife.

According to the Denver Post ( ), Roberts was arrested Friday night after Hasan Jones was wounded. Jones was in critical condition at Denver Health Medical Center on Monday.

Court records show Roberts posted $100,000 bail. He faces charges including attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
