Oct. 2. One of the more notable trends to emerge in the era of quick climate change is the melding of real science and great art, with the intention of spreading accurate information about the planet. Boulder is the epicenter of it all and this week plays the role with flair as CU Presents hosts the Armitage Gone! dance company’s “Fables on Global Warming.” The work is the latest creation from choreographer Karole Armitage, whose style earned her the nickname “the punk ballerina.” She’s a lot more than that, really, and has spent the past three decades creating pieces for ballet companies across the world. This work combines “dance, science, ancient Asian puppetry and traditional fables.” 7:30 p.m. Oct. 2, Macky Auditorium, 285 University Ave., Boulder. Preconcert Conversation at 6:45 p.m. in Macky, room 102 with CU Theatre & Dance’s Erika Randall $36-$52. 303-492-8008 or .
