LONGMONT, Colo.—Wildlife officials say a 22-year-old man is recovering after he was attacked by three coyotes while he was walking to work southwest of Longmont.

Andrew Dickehage tells The Longmont Times-Call ( ) he was on his way to the IBM campus in Boulder at about 5 a.m. Monday when he was attacked by the coyotes, which bit and scratched him for more than a minute.

He says the attack “was nonstop. It was so dark all I could see was the glimmer of their eyes.”

Dickehage was treated at a Longmont hospital, where he says he received nine shots that included “everything from rabies to tetanus.”

Colorado Parks and Wildlife spokeswoman Jennifer Churchill tells the Times-Call that officers have killed two of the coyotes involved and are seeking the third.
