Snow has tapered off in Denver Friday morning, giving way to cloudy skies and a chance of rain through noon.
The Denver International Airport recorded 1.4 inches of accumulation, according to the National Weather Service.
Officially, It was Denver’s first measurable snowfall since May 2.
In the mountains north and west of Denver heavier snow fell overnight. In the foothills just west of Fort Collins, two inches of new snow had fallen as of 2 a.m., according to a weather service spotter.
At Arapahoe Basin Ski Area 5 inches of snow fell over a 24-hour period and at Loveland Ski Area 6 inches fell in the same time frame, according to .
In northeastern Colorado and along the and skies will clear this afternoon and into the evening.
Northeast of Denver on the plains up to two inches of snow is expected before the front moves out, according to the weather service.
Weather in northeastern Colorado will be cool Friday, with high temperatures in most areas topping out in the 40s.
In Denver, snow should wrap up after 8 a.m., giving way to a slight chance of rain until about noon. The should be about 45 degrees.
Skies will be mostly clear Friday night in Denver, with a low temperature of 28 degrees.
Saturday and Sunday in the city should be sunny to mostly sunny with a high temperature in the lower 60s.
