COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Authorities say a man died at a hospital after he accidentally shot himself in the leg at an apartment complex in southeastern Colorado Springs.
Police say it appears the man was handling the gun, thinking it was unloaded, when it fired and struck him in the upper thigh at about 4:45 p.m. Saturday. The Gazette reports ( ) the man’s 19-year-old son told investigators he heard a shot, saw his father bleeding and called 911.
The victim’s name has not been released.
