CHARLOTTE, N.C.—The Panthers announced they have claimed rookie wide receiver Tavarres King off waivers from the Denver Broncos.

King was a fifth-round draft pick by the Broncos out of Georgia but has not appeared in an NFL game.

He spent most of the season on the Broncos practice squad before being elevated to the 53-man roster for one week. However, he was waived last week when the Broncos activated linebacker Von Miller.

To make room on the roster Carolina terminated the contract of cornerback DJ Moore, who has not played since suffering a sprained knee in week two.

Carolina also signed offensive tackle Andrew McDonald to the practice squad and released linebacker Jeff Tarpinian.
