Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov has retained a new attorney and requested that his next court appearance be pushed to Dec. 2.
The Denver District Attorney’s Office has yet to get the case from police, so Varlamov has not been officially charged with a crime .
Varlamov still is out on a $5,000 bond. His new attorney is Saskia Jordan, according to court documents.
The return date for the bond has been extended to Dec. 2, meaning the goalie may still travel with the team to play, according to Lynn Kimbrough, spokeswoman for the Denver DA’s office.
Denver police can use that extended time to present a possible case to the Denver DA.
Varlamov turned himself in to police the night of Oct. 30 after an arrest warrant was issued for second-degree kidnapping and third-degree assault charges on his girlfriend.
