Interview with Wendy Clifton, RN, owner
How did you get involved in this business?
I’ve worked in nursing for more than 20 years, specializing in critical care and emergency nursing, and flight nursing. I have years of caring for people and their physical well-being during periods of crisis. I still love caring for people and love helping them feel good about themselves. I feel this phase of my nursing is very rewarding. I enjoy watching the transformation and self-confidence that stems from self-care.
What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
What differentiates our business from others is that we are a medical spa that is “results-driven.” We have the best pharmaceutical skin-care treatments and products available and the latest technology in skin-care equipment to meet our clients’ aesthetic needs and desires. Some of these procedures include platelet rich plasma, which uses your own blood’s growth factors to build healthier, more youthful skin. We have the non-surgical body contouring treatment (Cool Sculpt) that effectively freezes away stubborn fat.
What do you like best about your line of work?
The best thing about my line of work is the feeling of reward that comes from building a business through hard work, dedication, teamwork and seeing the result come in the form of retained, satisfied customers who love how they look and feel a genuine sense of satisfaction.
What is your business’ biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge is trying to build our business by letting people know we are here and that we want to educate them about the importance of taking care of their skin. Colorado is known for being a “healthy” state in terms of physical, outdoorsy and active people. Our altitude here in Denver, being so high, wreaks havoc with the health of our skin and our appearance.
Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
Something people might be surprised to learn is that we offer regular educational seminars on health and wellness, our skin-care product lines, our treatments and how they work. We have future ambitions to bring in experts on many subjects and offer fun “girls night out” events.
