LOVELAND, Colo.—Colorado wildlife officials say a mountain lion killed two pygmy goats near Carter Lake.
A resident near the lake began circulating a flier to neighbors warning of increased mountain lion activity, but Colorado Parks and Wildlife spokeswoman Jennifer Churchill tells the Loveland Daily Reporter-Herald ( ) there’s nothing out of the ordinary.
Churchill says the goats were out of their enclosure on Oct. 29 when they were attacked and eaten. She says mountain lions are active all year and will kill livestock if it’s available to them.
Churchill advises residents living in mountain lion habitat to make sure their livestock are secured in sheds or barns.
