RockyGrass 2014 preliminary lineup announced: Ricky Skaggs & Bruce Hornsby, Sam Bush, Hot Rize and more

when Colorado’s devastating floods submerged ‘ home of in Lyons, festival organizers have announced the preliminary lineup for the 2014 event. The initial lineup includes, , , , , and more. The 42nd RockyGrass Festival takes place July 25-27.

“The 3-day event promises to be an emotional homecoming for Festivarians and musicians from around the world who watched the images of Lyons’ devastation in the international media,” a RockyGrass press release reads.

As Planet Bluegrass is being rebuilt throughout the coming year, a few improvements are planned to the grounds, including a new bowl seating area, a beach and family area, a remodeled Wildflower Pavilion and native revegetation throughout the property.

During the floods, several feet of rushing water flowed through the 20-acre RockyGrass grounds.

“There’s a lot of destruction,” said Brian Eyster, a Planet Bluegrass employee and Lyons resident “The worst thing that happened on the Ranch that we know about is one of the offices floated down the river. Itap totally gone.”

But he told Reverb that Planet Bluegrass was “100 percent committed” to bringing RockyGrass 2014 to the ranch on July 25-27.

“Just on the emotional power alone, it’ll be the best RockyGrass ever. It has to be,” he said.

Three-day passes, single-day tickets, and camping passes go on sale on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 9 a.m. at shop.bluegrass.com. Ticket prices are $135 for three-day passes and $60 for single-day tickets.
