Through dec. 22. The holidays are big for classical music, and the Colorado Symphony Orchestra plays the season for all its worth. This year there are events familiar and new, starting with “Holiday Brass” Dec. 1 at the Lone Tree Arts Center (10075 Commons St., Lone Tree, 720-509-1000). The musicians who usually sit in the back star in a program ranging from Baroque to film scores. The big “Messiah” follows, Dec. 13-15, at Boettcher Concert Hall. Conductor Douglas Boyd leads Handel’s big number with the Colorado Symphony Chorus singing. Another highlight: “Colorado Christmas,” Dec. 20-22, which adds in the Colorado Children’s Chorale.
