Thornton-based has announced that it has opened three kiosk locations in Southern California for the company’s EnerPlex brand of consumer electronics.

The Colorado company said Wednesday the new kiosks represent an expansion of retail strategy pioneered in Colorado this year.

In May, in metro Denver to sell EnerPlex products.

At the California kiosks, people will be able to touch and feel the products as well as speak with staff, said Ascent.

“Southern California was strategically selected as the next step in our kiosk expansion strategy due to its dense and affluent population,” said Jeramie Skogg, Ascent’s manager of retail-channel development.

“Expanding our footprint in time for the beginning of the holiday season not only will boost our brand recognition in one of the most densely populated areas of the United States but will provide an extremely advantageous selling opportunity during the busiest shopping season of the year,” Skogg said in a statement.

The kiosks will be in The Grove in Los Angeles, Westfield Santa Anita and the Irvine Spectrum Center.

EnerPlex takes advantage of Ascent’s ultra-light, thin and flexible solar panels and enables iPhone users to provide supplementary charging of their iPhones with sunlight, according to Ascent.
