brought their “Awesome Wave” to the Ed Sullivan Theatre on Tuesday. The band’s performance of “Fitzpleasure” on “The Late Show” is the cherry on top of a year-and-a-half of promoting their highly successful debut album.

The UK indie-jam act’s first proper album, “An Awesome Wave,” won the 2012 Mercury Prize, international acclaim and heavy touring since its release in May of that year. On Letterman on Tuesday, Alt-J performed a somber “Fitzpleasure,” complete with haunting percussion and menacing keyboard from Gus Unger-Hamilton. Check out Alt-J’s “Summer Remix” EP that was released last month if you need a quick fix. It includes remixes by TV On the Radio’s Dave Sitek and My Morning Jacket’s Jim James.
