
A phony call. A man called Golden Police on Dec. 27 to report a man with an Eastern European accent called his cellphone saying he had a package for him, but needed a $500 gift card from Walmart in order to facilitate delivery. Suspicious, the man immediately hung up on the caller.
Hot tub drained. A resident of the 1300 block of Prouty Drive, Evergreen, contacted Jefferson County Sheriff ‘s deputies to report that his hot tub was drained some time between Jan. 1 and 3, when he and his family were out of town. A black turtleneck found near the tub was booked as evidence. Earlier that day, deputies responded to a report of a window damaged by a BB gun at a residence across the street.
Bullet hole reported. Deputies reported to a home in the 3200 block of Interlocken Drive, Evergreen,on Jan. 1 after a resident said she heard a loud bang sometime after New Year’s Eve fireworks. She later found a quarter-inch bullet hole in her kitchen window and a dent in her oven’s hood. There are no suspects.
Locked out. Deputies reported to the 30700 block of Bryant Drive, Evergreen, on Jan. 3 after a man said he was unable to access his storage unit, which was locked with a padlock that wouldn’t work with his key. After cutting the lock off, the unit was found undisturbed. The building owner suggested another tenant mistook the unit for his or her own, cut off the original lock and replaced it.
Windows shot out. Two residences with windows that face west toward Keystone Drive, Evergreen, reported Jan. 5 that windows had been shot out.
