El Paso County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Hanover School District teacher Tuesday for suspected sexual assault involving a 13-year-old student.
Fernando Ornelas, 65, was arrested after authorities were made aware of an alleged incident on Jan. 19, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Ornelas was taken into custody for sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust.
Ornelas is being held on $25,000 bond, according to the release.
