The Jefferson County district attorney on Friday officially charged a 33-year-old man with the slaying of his common-law wife on the evening of March 21.
Michael Allen Sommerfield murder in the death of Michele Lucero, 34, according to the district attorney’s office.
Investigators were called to the couple’s condominium in the 9300 block of West Ontario Drive before 9 p.m., officials said. When they arrived, they found Lucero’s body.
Sommerfield will appear in court July 1 for a preliminary hearing.
