Denver Public Schools has been awarded a $7 million federal grant to expand science, technology, engineering and math programs at eight schools.
Local businesses and community leaders will donate an additional $2.3 million in matching funds to bolster the district’s STEM efforts.
The school district is one of two dozen education agencies across the country slated to receive a cut of $100 million in federal grants, which are intended to help smooth the path for students to enter college or start careers.
