Husband arrested for assault, child abuse. On April 1, Edgewater police officers responded to a residence in the 2700 block of Ingalls Street regarding a woman screaming at somebody to leave her baby alone. Neither the woman nor the baby suffered serious injuries.

Man arrested had homemade weapon, meth. A man was arrested for a warrant and possession of methamphetamine and weapons March 27 after being contacted for jaywalking by a Lakewood police officer. The man was walking across Colfax Avenue at Kendall Street against a flashing do not walk signal. The man had in his possession two 18-inch chainsaw blades with fabricated handles, and a small baggie of meth and a syringe.

Train slapping. A woman was arrested for domestic violence March 27 in the area of West 10th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard, Lakewood. A husband and wife were having an argument on the light rail, and the woman allegedly slapped her husband twice in the face. The husband later asked if he could be arrested instead of her.

Break it up. Lakewood police officers arrested a man March 26 after breaking up a fight between two men in an apartment complex in the 300 block of Ames Street. The two men were found “tangled up” in a stairway. One of the men had a bloody nose and a cut underneath his right eye. The men agreed not to press charges, but one was arrested on a warrant.
