Interview with Julia Rossi, EVP, and Danielle Stangler, CEO

Q: How did you get involved in this business?

A: Danielle and her family were out to eat and had a (then) 18-month-old who was covered in macaroni and cheese. Her daughter didn’t like having her face wiped, and Danielle was faced with a challenge that she knew all too well — a challenge we now coin “Face Wipe Avoidance.” Unfortunately, Danielle had left her diaper bag in the car with her typical wipes so she asked her husband to dip his napkin in his water (which, come to find out, was lemonade). Her daughter licked her lips and kept saying “Nummy, nummy!” Danielle and her husband couldn’t believe it. The idea for a flavored face wipe was born. Today, TaylorBaby LLC is the company responsible for the exciting new brand of face wipes, called NeatCheeks.

Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?

A: There are three key differences between NeatCheeks and any other face wipe on the market today. We have harnessed patent-pending technology to deliver a new and unique sensory experience to the face wipe, never done before: flavor. Second, NeatCheeks is the only wipe that delivers a positive experience with cleanup. And lastly, NeatCheeks eliminate what can be the battle of cleanup and help moms remove any hiccups during the day that “face wipe avoidance” could cause.

Q: What do you like best about your line of work?

A: The most rewarding aspect of working in this business has been the opportunity to work with other passionate moms and parents. It has been truly amazing the amount of support we have received.

Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?

A: Our biggest challenge has been growing at the pace the market demands. We are a small business and, as other budding companies know, there are growing pains associated with limited resources. The good news is, we have had terrific advisers to draw from and we continue to learn and grow ourselves to stay sharp and adapt to the constant change.

Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business?

A: Danielle now has three children and Julia has two (with one on the way). They have created this business amidst growing families and while working full time. The company is based out of Castle Rock, and Julia is a Colorado native. They received their first round of inventory the first week of February this year after several years of product development, and launched at the local Colorado Baby and Kidz Expo that month.
