Chaffee County officials confirmed they were undertaking the rescue Saturday afternoon of a backcountry skier injured in an estimated 25-foot fall near Huron Peak and Lois Lake.

The injured man, in his mid-30s, was skiing with another man when the fall occurred. Sheriff’s officials were launching a search and rescue team and alerting Flight for Life. No other information was available.
