
A new Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Thornton will open at 11 a.m. Thursday with three days of giveaways to celebrate the first location of the Dallas-based restaurant in the north metro area.
The 2,500-square-foot restaurant is owned by two Brighton residents who are both first-time franchise owners. It is located east of Interstate 25 and Thornton Parkway at 9740 Grant St., and will be open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Owners Michael and Ingrid Jackson will distribute store gift cards worth up to $50 to the first 50 guests Thursday, June 5. On June 6, the restaurant will host merchandise giveaways from open to close, and on June 7 radio station 98.5 KYGO will be on site from noon to 2 p.m. serving $2 pulled pork barbecue sandwiches.
Also on June 7, three customers will be chosen to receive free barbecue for a year and one customer will get a $500 gift card.
“Thornton has nothing like this,” Ingrid Jackson said in a statement. “We believe the community will love the fast casual barbecue concept with the meats smoked low and slow on-site every day.”
There are nine current Dickey’s Barbecue Pit locations in Colorado, including the new site in Thornton. According , two more locations are slated to open in Castle Rock and Colorado Springs.
